Hollywood no longer harbors seedy bowling alleys where catering to pros named Norm who whistle along with crackling elevator music. Since opening in 2003, Lucky Strike Lanes (which calls itself "an upscale bowling lounge") attracts families, celebrities and hipsters-in-training with 12 state-of-the-art bowling lanes, a high-tech video wall, pool tables and a restaurant catered by longtime Hollywood party provider Along Came Mary. (Try the tomato-and-cheese s'mores or the Chocolate Insanity dessert.) DJs spin rock and hip-hop in the lounge Tuesday through Saturday; drink specials are given to anyone in '80s gear each Monday; Sundays is karaoke.
