Each year there seems to be a bigger or faster roller coaster to awe and intimidate adrenaline junkies.

Magic Mountain, which has been swooping and looping Southern Californian amusement park lovers for more than 35 years, loves to boast about its superlatives. The park's rides include Deja Vu, the tallest and fastest suspended looping coaster in the world; Superman The Escape is the only ride to break the 100-mph speed barrier; Colossus is the tallest wooden coaster on the West Coast; Revolution is the world's first 360-degree looping coaster; Scream! is California's first floorless coaster. The park's latest addition, Tatsu, sends thrill seekers through record-setting a 124-foot pretzel loop. With 17 total of coasters (a Guinness world record, of course), Magic Mountain has become the destination for the thrill-seeking set. Although the park is mainly geared toward older kids and adults, there is enough here to keep the younger ones occupied. Thanks to a licensing agreement with its former corporate parent Warner Bros., Six Flags has the six-acre Bugs Bunny World, with attractions like Daffy's Adventure Tours, Yosemite Sam's Flight School and Taz's Lumber Co. Bugs Bunny World also features miniature versions of some of Magic Mountain's larger coasters, including Goliath Jr. Magic Mountain has been featured in numerous films, including Summer School, This Is Spinal Tap and National Lampoon's Vacation (it was in costume as "Wally World").
