This studio offers yoga according to Steve Ross, author, TV personality and pied piper of inner happiness.

Resident guru Ross attracts the wealthy and famous to this Brentwood studio, which is located on the upper floor of a shopping center next to the Brentwood Country Mart. (Yogis shouldn’t park in the Mart's lot unless they want bad karma and the possibility of a parking ticket.) The space is cozy—there’s only one room for yoga, so only one class at a time—and those who arrive to class early can peruse the books, mats and cute Prana and Hard Tail togs available in the studio store. Maha offers an array of classes, but with the exception of the occasional Mysore Ashtanga, most are fast-paced flow-style, and most come equipped with a soundtrack featuring Beyonce or The Jackson 5. Ross' cult following means his classes fill up quickly, but Ish Moran always leads a great class: his soothing voice, choice of tunes (bands like Zero 7 usually dominate the mix) and end-of-class back crack never disappoint. —Elisa Jacobs
