More than 100 classes each week are taught at this studio, with an emphasis on flow classes, better known as power yoga.

Yoga Works is the Santa Monica-based operation that has spawned many of LA's top teachers. At present the organization has three Westside locations (the others can be found on Main Street in Santa Monica and on Westwood Boulevard in Westwood), offering everything from mommy & me to pranayama (where the focus is on breathing). While parking isn't the most ideal in this bustling shopper haven, a trip to to the Montana outpost is worth it. LA guru Peter Barnett teaches here (how Barnett manages to teach at what seems like almost every yoga studio in the LA area, we don't know) as well as one of our personal favorites Greville Henwood. Those looking for a good level 2/3 flow class, should definitely take a chance on the British-born Henwood. Aside from being easy on the eyes, Henwood guides his students with depth of knowledge and humor. He can make anyone giggle, even when their thighs are burning like hotcakes. —Elisa Jacobs
