Shakespeare by the SeaOn June 21, 2006 To sea or not to sea, that is the question ![]() Crashing waves, yes, but never a crashing bore. Now in its 10th season, Shakespeare by the Sea presents The Taming of the Shrew and The Merchant of Venice, opening at Point Fermin Park in San Pedro on June 14 and June 21, respectively. As the name of the series suggests, the starlit outdoor performances celebrate the Bard with the ocean as the backdrop. In mid-July, the troupe takes its show on the road, but returns to the oceanfront park for closing performances in August. Theatergoers are welcome to bring picnics (but no booze). And best of all, you don't have shell out a penny, because all performances are free. —Mai Dinh![]()
