ACME Comedy TheatrePretty sketchy
    Though sometimes lost in the shadow of comedic rivals, the company (whose alumni include Adam Carolla) consistently puts on top-notch sketch shows.ACME offers a comedic smorgasbord of sketch comedy, improv, variety, stand-up and the odd guest show. Home to six improv and sketch-comedy troupes, the theater frequently welcomes visiting companies and guest comedians like Alison Arngrim, who made her name as Nellie Oleson on "Little House on the Prairie," and "Seinfeld" actress Annie Korzen. During the week, ACME showcases individual performers and small staged productions, but on Fridays and Saturdays it rolls out its company players for sketch and improv shows. Wednesday nights ACME hosts its free long-form Improv Jam at 10pm—a much better way to end hump day than staying at home to watch "Lost."
