Improv Olympic WestChicago's premier Improv troupe makes its way out west.
    For more than two decades, Del Shores' brainchild has been entertaining and teaching the best of them in the art of improv comedy.Ensconced in a storefront space that's much more upscale than its former digs on Melrose Avenue, Improv Olympic West offers at least three different comedy shows a night—most nights, those jonesing for low-budget comedy can pick from five evening shows. (Marathoners and indecisive Libras can just stay for the whole lot.) It may not have the high-powered cache of local faves the Groundlings, but Improv Olympic holds its own in terms of famous alums, including Mike Myers and Amy Poehler. True to its namesake, the Andy Dick Experimental Blackbox offers something really wacky; team shows gather groups of comedians who improv for nearly an hour based on a theme provided by the audience.—Mai Dinh
