While the museum never really had an awkward phase, it's safe to say the establishment, which is more than 25 years old, has blossomed into a sophisticated being for gleefully unsophisticated tykes.

Meet hyperactive Edwin. Edwin is a handful who pulls down curtains and breaks something valuable within five minutes of entering a room. What to do with him? Kidspace is the kind of wowza place that wants him to run around touching everything in sight. Down the educational rabbit hole, he'll find science-filled exhibits and installations built to entertain even the most easily distracted children. After wiping his mitts all over the installations on earthquakes and raindrops, dancing in the fountain, conquering the climbing tower and the spider web, exploring the bat cave and the multiple gardens, eating healthy food from Wolfgang Puck and shoving other kids into the beehive, little Edwin will certainly need a nap. Ahhhh.—Lonny Pugh
