Equipped with an old-fashioned ticket booth, this stylized moviehouse's status as a neighborhood favorite seems inexplicable to those who walk into one of its dingy screening rooms for the first time. The screens may be on the small side and the walls may be on the thin side, but the candy's sweet, the soda caffeinated, the location prime and the scene poseur-free. Plus, unlike more popular cinemas that shall remain nameless, this theater still remembers the concept of a matinee. Screenings before 6pm are only $4.50, and even after 6pm adults are only $7.50.
