This high-class exhibition facility gives visitors a shot of MOCA sans 10 freeway traffic.

The gallery’s main focus is to feature art, design and architecture exhibitions...a perfect fit for the Pacific Design Center’s mission to serve the needs of those who thrive on design. The rest of PDC houses showrooms for Dwell addicts with money to spare, but the MOCA gallery stands on the center's two-acre outdoor plaza—that way prospective buyers don't get the impression they can walk away with one of the works on display. The gallery officially launched back in 2001 with an affair honoring LA's resident architectural genius, Frank Gehry, and MOCA board chairwoman Audrey M. Irmas. Recent exhibitions include provocative photography from Larry Clark’s permanent collection, "Superflat" (a survey of Japanese art, animation, fashion and graphic design), "What’s Shakin'" (an examination of new architecture in Los Angeles), and "LA On My Mind" (a showcase of photography, sculpture and art by local artists).
