Graffiti gets its chance to be called art here

Since 1994, New Image Art has shown very affordable work by young urban and street artists (under $500), making this a good place to start your art collection. The quality of the prints is high, but the content often reflects the interests of an adolescent provocateur—geishas in black face, paintings of heavy metal bands and their groupies, beer, deer, and skateboarding boys hang parlor style or float on the walls in a film of spray paint. The gallery's long, airless space makes slithering through the crowd to the back patio during an opening necessary if you plan to stay longer than five minutes.
