Designed by acclaimed architect Cesar Pelli, this massive cobalt complex is fondly referred to as the Blue Whale. Each showroom has its own admittance policy: Most are open to the design trade, some to the public consumer. The Center's outdoor space is open to the public, but seven event spaces constantly bustle with private soirees. The PDC also offers lectures and seminars, as well as design and buying services for those without the professional credentials to enter certain showrooms. Symbols of the unique discoveries inside take the shape of a huge silver lamp and chair standing tall upon the sculptural lawn.
