With roots in early-nineties Venice, this Chicano gallery has gone through many changes since its inception, not the least of which includes its move to Bergamot Station in 1994.

The focus on Chicano and Chicana artists from across the nation is a new one for the Correia gallery, though Ms. Correia is herself of Spanish and Portuguese descent. From 1991 through its '94 move to Bergamot and all the way up to 2003, the gallery worked with California artists of all nationalities and mediums. The new, more doable focus of the gallery has been highlighted by showings from intense painter George Yepes and black-and-white photographer Miguel Figueroa.
