There is no shortage of comedy clubs in LA, but this venue has been an industry leader since Jamie Masada opened it in 1979.

The late Richard Pryor was the first comedian to perform here; Jamie Foxx, Chris Rock, Jim Carrey, Jerry Seinfeld, Kathy Griffin and the Wayans brothers have all followed suit. Funnymen George Lopez and Bob Saget have been among the recent headliners and Dave Chappelle and Dane Cook often stop by unannounced to perform impromptu sets. Other highlights include the Monday Latino Night, which has been going strong for more than 19 years, and Chocolate Sundaes, led by former "Vibe" TV host Chris Spencer on Sunday nights. Thursday welcomes a rowdy crowd for a night of college humor and Jon Lovitz handles hump day.
