After cutting her teeth at Hunsacker/Schlesinger Fine Arts and Jack Rutberg Fine Arts, Donna Enad Napper opened this namesake gallery.

The ample space, covered with a dark wooden ceiling pierced by skylights, makes the warm and inviting gallery the perfect place for notable undercurrents of the contemporary art scene. With a keen sensibility for classic abstraction filtered through modern twists, Napper has filled d.e.n. with quiet and unsettling provocations from artists like Noriko Ambe, Carlos Estrada-Vega and Tim Forcum. Coleen Sterritt made the combination of found furniture, wood, glue and shellac look organic and, at times, demonic; Kristie Lippire made fumigation tents look fun. —Melissa Lo
