This diminutive spa houses just a handful of treatment rooms but a offers a whole lot of service; in addition to the spa, the Luxe Hotel's gym and room service (served al fresco) are available to guests.

The new Luxe Spa bears that ubiquitous Asian-esque spa atmosphere--bamboo, small fountains, plinky music. And the feng shui seems to be working; the small space doesn't feel cramped, especially with glass doors connecting the waiting area with a leafy patio so guests can listen to birds chirp and tennis balls lobbed on the nearby courts. The manicure room also looks out onto the patio, while the four treatment rooms are down a womb-like hall. The hotel's gym is adjacent, and spa guests are welcome to use it. For those on the go, Luxe Spa is a great lunch stop-over that offers lunch on the patio before or after a 15-minute chair massages, a 30-minute mini-facial or a 30-minute massage.

What the spa lacks in fancy equipment—there is no Vichy shower, sauna or wet room—it makes up for in the quality of its staff and little touches such as heated blankets on massage tables. A Swedish massage we enjoyed during the spa's opening week was among the very best we've experienced in LA. The therapist was also a certified yoga instructor, which explained her ability to ease the muscles that bark after one too many down dogs.
