Punk-rock fashion plate John Q opened this shop, located near style meccas Sirens & Sailors and Luxe de Ville, with the intention of stirring up trouble.

The 700-square-foot shop breeds rebellion (or fashion victimhood) with punky logo T-shirts, rocker pins, fedoras, baseball caps, skirts, coats, purses and belts, all with a raised-fist slant. The store stocks only local designers, including John Q's own leather clothing line. If Echo Park shoppers feel like someone's watching them, it may be the Shepard Fairey's oversized "Obey" poster plastered on the wall above. John Q hosts two monthly parties and a monthly art show.
