Now that Westsiders have their very own vintage paradise, they can skip the drive to Melrose Avenue for stellar vintage finds.

One block from the chain-ridden Third Street Promenade, Wasteland brings an edgier, homegrown feel to the neighborhood. The racks hold a wide selection of vintage clothing, mainly from the '40s to the '80s, although there is a lot of contemporary designer resale to be found. The fashions lean toward the rock-star end of the style spectrum; plenty of loud pantsuits, colorful dresses, stiletto heels and retro-cool cowboy boots are here. —Mai Dinh
