With all the fashion-forward shops sprouting up on Ventura Boulevard, it's no wonder the attitude on the street has gone from lame to trendy. But Almarie Duthie, who owns Elahn, isn't letting the attention go to her head—it's still the Valley, after all.

Owner Almarie Duthie gives a lot of personal attention to shoppers in her store. Favorite items are most often bold, colorful pieces from frilly pink dresses to soft, metallic leather bags that could be seen dangling from the fishnet-covered arm of New York rockster Karen O. She's also got multi-strand necklaces from Tula (perfect for that oh-so-popular layered look), multicolored tweed jackets, fashion-forward pieces from Trina Turk and Ella Moss, rock couture from Smashing Grandpa and girlish undies from Only Hearts.
