Ole Henriksen, facialist to the stars, gets nautical at his spa at Shutters on the Beach. Caddy-corner from the main building of the beachside hotel, ONE's interior has portholes on the doors, seashells on the walls and low ceilings that make you feel like you're below deck on a yacht.

Henriksen has made a name for himself among the Hollywood set with his eponymous spa on Sunset Plaza. If you've ever wondered how someone like Mena Suvari (who we've spotted at the Sunset spa) keeps her skin glowing, it's Henriksen's line of botanically based products used in all the treatments and tools. There's the lympho-energetic drainer, a soundwave therapy wand and a "firmator brush": They literally suck, blow and chip away the dead skin cells. Facial treatments bear beachy titles like "Chill Out" and "Tidal Wave"; we recommend the "Pore Baby," which will rid LA's summertime grime from your face. Full-body treatments include the "Beach Baby," an 80-minute complexion treatment and sea mineral scrub, and "Get Stoned," which involves not hemp but 110 minutes of hot rock, deep-tissue, facial, feet and hand massages. —Lesley Balla
