Ananda and Ananda Shakti bring together all the earthly and eclectic style Venice is known for. There may be a wall separating the two storefronts, but it's one big store. Ananda houses women's dresses, shirts, jackets and saris; Ananda Shakti carries clothes for women and men as well as Buddha statues, jewelry, decororative objects and books. It also houses the upstairs hair salon Soapbox. All components of the urban hippie look are here, with ethnic imported clothing mixed with local designers. It's a little bit of folk and a little bit of funk all wrapped in one—well, two stores.
