Grown-ups who crave sneakers from back in the day (remember the first time black-and-white checkered Vans were hip?) can find modern reproductions at Kicks.

Kicks in Silver Lake stocks an extensive selection of good ol' Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars, Adidas Superstar shell-toes and Vans slip-ons in the newest limited-edition prints and fabrics from snakeskin to denim. Ygal Aiche and Ilan Bitton's collective European taste means Kicks favors shoes with a slimmer silhouette (think agile soccer-style Pumas and Asics) over boxy skate shoes. We got goosebumps when reaching into the glass case of rare Nike Dunks and Air Jordans for sale. Some of the shoes are more often glimpsed in sneaker collector books than, you know, touchable—a pair of Chocolate Nike Dunks and a pair of Zoo York Nike Dunks each sport a $1,700 price tag. The original Kicks on Larchmont Boulevard opened a kids' store next door to get the youngsters started early on their soon-to-be vintage collections. —Rhea Cortado
