Agnes B. is the dream closet for wanna-be French urbanites who need more than a beret. Peppered with tons of black and white garb for both men and women, the Robertson Boulevard boutique occupies the brick-layered corner space at Alden Drive. Classic cardigans, dainty scarves and liberal messages sprawled on T-shirts can whet any liberal Francophile's appetite. This label is edgy, but subtly so; it's popular with the indie, hipster crowd—the kind that would never use words like indie or hipster. Somehow, Agnes B. has the ability to make a black leather mini-skirt and patterned tights look appropriate in even a stiff, corporate work environment; cigarette pants and stylish sneakers are also staples.
