John Frieda SalonMelrose Place's celebrity-hair oasis ![]() Celebrity hair stylist Sally Hershberger and John Frieda have since parted ways (the salon was called the Sally Hershberger at John Frieda Salon up until early this year), but the John Frieda Salon will still likely maintain its exclusive roster of clients and its tucked-in, tranquil vibe.Tucked at the end of a hallway of chic boutiques on Melrose Place is the celebrity-hair oasis that is the John Frieda Salon. The space is small in size but enormous in stature among the celebrity and beauty worlds. The salon was formerly helmed by Sally Hershberger, the New York-based hairstylist who gave Meg Ryan her signature shag cut and was known for her $600 to $800 haircuts (she now cuts at Chris McMillan's Beverly Hills salon when she's in LA). Though Hershberger is no longer available at John Frieda, there are 10 other skilled stylists and eight colorists from which to choose. Color masters Negin Zand and Jonathan Gale are known to tint the locks of Nicole Kidman and Charlize Theron; stylist Guy Riggio has cut the tresses of Mary-Kate Olsen and Paris Hilton. Even Hershberger's mentor, Teddy Antolin, sees clients Sharon Stone and David Bowie. The color and cutting rooms are separated by an atrium featuring a pool and lounge chairs; dozens of crystals have been strategically placed to maintain its tranquil vibe. —Enid Portuguez
