Everything from fudge to salmon to jumbalaya to banana splits to wine to hot sauce can be found at the bazaar-like stalls within, and the people-watching also offers something for every taste.

Created in 1934, when 18 farmers parked their trucks on vacant land at Gilmore Ranch to sell fresh produce to the locals, the Farmers Market has become a landmark almost as famous as nearby CBS Television City. History buffs worried the construction of The Grove, the shiny new outdoor mall that now spoons it, would somehow taint its legacy, but The Farmers Market is bustling as always. The semi-covered landmark features restaurants serving anything from paneer to po' boys—authentic options for Greek, French, Indian, Korean and more abound—and the fruit and veggie stands offer some of the best year-round treats in town. Also yummy: the good-looking crowd.
