Mallrats may notice that, like most things in LA, the Beverly Center has had some work done. Above eight levels of parking and chi-chi shopping, this trendsetting shopping haven even offers panoramic views on the Rooftop Terrace.

With more than 160 boutiques and restaurants, the Beverly Center offers a nibble for tastes from mundane (Nine West, Williams-Sonoma, Banana Republic) to high-end (Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana, Just Cavalli). Anchored by Macy's, Bloomingdales and a rather dumpy movie theater, this everything-to-everyone mall even has a pet store where we once saw Lucy Liu buy a puppy. Tourists won't be lost in translation: There are signs in English, Spanish and Japanese throughout, souvenirs are plentiful, and celeb spottings are still frequent. Though the Beverly Center has long since been eclipsed by The Grove in terms of spectacle, it's been name-checked in more TV shows and still offers more actual shopping, making it a must-see for fashionista tourists.
