When Diane Kron lived in New York, she and her husband Tom sold gourmet candies to the likes of Jackie O, Estee Lauder, Andy Warhol and Katharine Hepburn. Now retired, Tom claims to have been the inventor of the chocolate-covered strawberry, he used an Austro-Hungarian family's secret recipe to great success. In the '80s, the Krons sold the business, and Mrs. Kron opened (her very own) K in Beverly Hills, specializing in elite sweets like vodka- and scotch-infused chocolates. The K Sensual chocolates, which purport to enhance a woman's sexual enjoyment, are the obvious choice around Valentine's Day.—Lesley Balla
