This well-lit, well-designed spot is a treasure trove of one-of-a-kind finds and cutting-edge designer labels.

The sensibility of the store feels urban but in a much more sophisticated style than baggy jeans and logo-emblazoned T-shirts. Men covet LRG, Penguin, Fresh Jive and ROCA; women seek out Kenzie Girl, WE and the very popular Harajuku bags. Every fourth Friday, Black Market hosts art openings where hipsters tailgate with retro-cool cuties against a front counter made of a silver Pontiac grill. Owner Jisook Lee mixes art and fashion and seems heavily influenced by Japanese style. Located on Sawtelle Boulevard amongst noodle shops and near Asian pop-culture vultures Giant Robot and GR2, the store feels like a small injection of Tokyo, minus the brontosaurus skyscraper ads.
