This grand, girly boudoir is the rare boutique that sells shoes and hard-to-find European designer clothing.

Satine carries a small but important selection of clothing by household names like Stella McCartney, Tom Ford and Alexander McQueen and hard-to-find Australian and Japanese lines like United Bamboo. Co-owners Jeannie Lee and Sophia Banks both ditched unfulfilling day jobs (lawyer and strategy consultant, respectively) for their true passion: retail. Lee founded Satine as a shoe store but couldn't resist lines like Vena Cava, designed by two Parsons grads, and designer Tsumori Chisato, so she soon began selling clothing as well. The decor's a bit shabby chic with white antique furniture, chandeliers and a ribbon memory board filled with glamour shots, but the concrete floors accentuate the click of Chloe heels being tried on by sassy city girls clued into next season's fashion forecast.—Laurie Pike
