Surf dude-turned-jewelry designer Joseph Bortoli is riding a wave of good fortune with his design house Nagual, which means "shaman" in Spanish.

During his "spiritual quests" (aka surf trips) through Mexico, Bortoli became intrigued with jewelry and decided to create his own collection. His Mexican-inspired accessories borrow ancient symbols and architectural designs forged in silver and gold coupled with braided leather or cuffs. In addition to jewelry, Bortoli sells leather belts, wallets, purses and men's bags studded with silver hardware. (Man-purses can be studly!) His hard-rock/tribal designs have been seen on the arms of Colin Farrell, Jane's Addiction bandmates, Billy Bob Thornton, Kid Rock and that pinnacle of fashion, Anna Nicole Smith.
