Italian denim in up-to-the-minute washes and styles are sold in this retro-futuristic store.

LA had a bit of a chip on its shoulder about Miss Sixty, the trendy denim and sportswear line that has its own stores in New York, San Fran, Miami—and OC, for God's sake—but not LA. Now, after a very long incubation period, Miss Sixty opened two stores within four months: one as Fred Segal's sexy neighbor on Melrose Avenue and another on Third Street Promenade.

The retro-futuristic store—the future, as seen perhaps through a pair of Elton John glasses from the '70s—houses its dressing rooms in what looks like big-top circus tents. Vintage furniture and wallpaper give off a feeling of excess, Tinseltown style. It's a very glam setting for trendy denim and sportswear that's fun and chic, but usually requires a young, sexy body to pull off.
