Plenty of stores say they carry labels no one else has. Scout LA actually delivers.

Owners Joseph Grana and Greg Armas combined their fashion savvy (we wept when Grana closed his vintage store Geez Louise in Fullerton), art theory know-how and preternatural good taste to create Scout LA in 2003. The owners literally scour the globe for new fashion and lifestyle items by indie designers and art collaboratives. For 2006, the store will make a splash with Swedish and Danish lines like Acne Denim, a specialty brand for those with super-skinny legs. More forward-looking than retro, Scout LA carries Jeremy Scott, Henrik Vibskov, Grey Ant and Society for Rational Dress. Not surprisingly, Grana and Armas offer personal styling, private-label design and other professional services like vintage sourcing to film and TV productions (they recently made the uniforms for French cosmetic company Color Lab). And they rent out the store, small as it is, for events.
