Open since 1905, Dawson's is the oldest continuously operating book shop in Los Angeles.

The third-generation establishment is a leading source for rare and out-of-print books in the fields of California history, Western Americana and photography. The Michael Dawson Gallery, nestled inside the book shop, is an airy space where contemporary and historical photography is displayed. Artists such as Claudia Kunin, Ansel Adams, Edward Weston and Will Connell grace the walls. A gift from this shop will likely go much further than a Starbucks gift card.
