Jeannine Braden, owner of fashionista favorite Fred Segal Flair, joins forces with pal Kay Sides to create Post26, a broad-minded boutique that specializes in everything from easily found basics to rare designer vintage.

Nestled in the quaint Brentwood Country Mart, the subdued and unpretentious Post26 is a microcosm of contrasts. Sixties-looking foil-stemmed floral wallpaper is paired with a concrete floor, unfinished wood and clear globular lighting. Feminine (minus the frills) and modern (minus the chills), the clothing and accessories, like the décor, manage to balance opposites—casual with dressy, contemporary with vintage and cheap with pricey. The open and airy main floor houses equally open racks (we were able to spot a cute Alexander Wang dress from across the room) where James Perse jersey basics hang by $1,400 Derek Lam cashmere sweaters and cotton Clu shirts reside next to pricey silk Temperley blouses. A jewelry case contains contemporary and designer vintage pieces such as diamond-encrusted pendants from the 1890s and LA-based Lena Wald’s teeny-tiny wishbone charms. Up on the cozy peaked-roof loft are hard-to-find resort line Ports 1961 and a small but exquisite selection of vintage Dior, Chanel, Vivienne Westwood and Halston. The hand-selected pieces are aimed to appeal to women of all ages—teenagers and moms alike have been known to pick up, and walk out with, the same pinstriped Nickle jacket. —Lyndsey Saul
