Brentwood resale shop PJ London celebrates 25 years of putting Chanel, Armani and Versace within affordable reach.

In 1982, owner Phyllis Davis opened PJ London (The "J" is for Phyllis' middle name Jane; London the last name of her former business partner) as one of the first consignment stores in Brentwood. This year, the shop celebrates its 25th anniversary and remains a popular place for previously owned (and sometimes never-worn) designer pieces. Consider it a sample sale that takes place every day—Chanel suits are often sold for $600, and Versace dresses and Prada bags go for about $300. The shoe selection is equally impressive; occasionally the Manolo Blahniks, Jimmy Choos and Christian Louboutins in stock are marked 50 percent off, with some pairs going for under $100. People with slightly large feet may feel a little shafted as most pairs hover in the size 6 to 7 range, but a $170 Louis Vuitton wallet will console them quickly enough. —Enid Portuguez
