Famed interior designer Barclay Butera’s namesake showroom caters to a monied clientele, and his influences span the globe.

First things first: This place has a beautiful ceiling. Arched and barn-like, its many skylights flood sunshine into the upstairs showroom, an airy space that feels like a British colonial resort in Africa. Animal prints and porcelain vases abound, exotic brass chandeliers dangle over rich wooden tables, and luxuriant leather couches and armchairs beckon sly power-nappers.. But don't fall hard unless your budget can take it. A large faux orchid centerpiece (which looked very real) was priced at $780. An inviting "safari-queen" four-poster bed was $6,000. For that price, you could probably fly to Africa and buy the real thing (if there is one), but that would be missing the point, right? —Yvonne Puig
