Dussault MotelRob Zombie, this one's for you ![]() Vancouver import Dussault Apaprel is the brain child of Jason “Deuce” Dussault, whose new motel-themed Melrose Avenue boutique, The Dussault Motel, is a complete vision of chic-meets-scary duds for dudes and chicks. It’s easy to pass off the brand as your average tattoo-art smeared hoodies and tees, but where Dussault wins is its commitment to fulfilling its creator’s goal of global domination through a prolific amount of merchandise. There are leather bags, Gothic jewelry, red baseball caps, embroidered hoodies, graphic tees, bronze and silver belt buckles, and an array of denim all for men and women. Whew! The motif is very backwoods macabre, not exactly fitting in on Melrose, what with Fornarina, Denmark furniture, and Park and Ronen all within a few blocks. Mr. Dussault explains, “Rodeo Drive was too ritzy and Robertson too chic. Dussault has a certain edge and I wanted to make sure our crowd felt comfortable.” Makes sense. All in all, if the rock star within can’t live without skulls, lions, and graffiti, it’s a far cooler alternative to Ed Hardy. Unfortunately, when we went over the weekend the store was closed over an hour into its posted hours of public operation. Still it’s worth checking out.
