Jake VintageWho's your dandy? ![]() Jake Vintage is a mid-century modern enthusiast’s wet dream. Tobacco-colored walls, a Sinatra soundtrack, and yes, even a cocktail while you shop, Jake Vintage is on a mission to turn Los Feliz into a tailored, well-suited gentleman army.Owner (and former camera parts-salesman) Jonathan H. Kanarek takes his vintage seriously, displaying an impressive selection of mint-condition duds. We’re particularly mad for the accessories: peacock print tie, anyone? Maybe a silk bathrobe? A shaving set? All classically kitsch and completely cool. Kanarek also offers sport coats in jacquard and silk for the daring, while brown and gray tweeds await the classic fella. And the rumor is a whole suit costs only $300. Even the price tags are retro. Kanarek’s eye for detail (he personally hand picks the inventory from top-secret sources) extends beyond the boutique. In the weeks to come, check out etiquette seminars on everything from putting together casual and formal looks to tending the perfect bar. Yes, it’s a little burby circa Eisenhower, what with photos of the Rat Pack and wool cardigans. But with elements like Andy Carey wood-disk art (our pick for coolest dressing room decor) and a fleet of electric guitars waiting to be plucked, it’s SoCal circa now. –Philip Harris
