Kin boutique's vibrant interior, broad selection of fashion lines and, perhaps most importantly, accommodating service by its two good-looking owners are just a few reasons to join this stylish family.

Opened in 2005, Kin occupies a corner space in a strip mall near Sunset Plaza—not exactly the first place one would think to find designers like Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen, but that may be part of its appeal. Inside the surprisingly spacious shop, work from local artists add a bit of extra vibrance; the equally lively racks are filled with handpicked pieces ranging in price and style. One section houses breezy dresses by Development, jersey tops by Ella Moss and denim by Serfontaine; another goes a more avant-garde route with items by Westwood, MM6 by Martin Margiela and Karen Walker. Menswear gets an equal amount of exposure, with fashion-forward, casual pieces by Corpus, Brian Lichtenberg and Surface to Air sharing rack space with dressier items from J.Lindeberg. Clothing displays are peppered with shoes and accessories by Fornarina, Dirty Librarian and Moss Mills, among others. Owners and longtime friends Darrel Adams and Alex Mouracade strive to treat all customers like family when they enter—expect nice things like bottled water and extended hours for regulars who need a little more time to shop. —Enid Portuguez
