If a bit of a Moroccan bazaar were to ditch Marrakech, hitch a transatlantic magic carpet ride and pitch a luxury good-stocked villa-like storefront (in lieu of a tent) on San Vicente, this would be Metro boutique.

The two-story, 4,000 square foot space sits a hop and a skip from Whole Foods, where an eclectic collection of designer duds, candles, greeting cards, jewelry, furniture and more nearly overflows out its ultra-wide open doors (so wide open, in fact, it makes Metro feel like a breezy outdoor marketplace). Jewel-hued umbrellas (for sale) shade racks packed with women’s ready-to-wear from local designers like Gen Art alum Christian Weber, high-end dresses by Vivienne Westwood and Italian denim line Uniform. Find you like one of the antique crystal chandeliers just as much as that Cake Couture sweater? Or the carved wooden bar that doubled as a Vincent Longo makeup counter (a big deal as Longo is only carried at Sephora and Barneys) when we were there? Then it's yours--all the furnishings throughout Metro, made by local interior design/furniture manufacturer Porta Bella, are for sale. Upstairs (behind a velvet rope no less) is the VIP shopping lounge reserved for Metro Club members; memberships are available by paying a one-time registration fee and monthly dues ($600, then $150 a month for the Platinum) and offer first dibs on new merchandise, comped cocktails, sales tax-free shopping and automatic invites to exclusive in-store events. But our fav thing about Metro? It's policy on making everyone feeling like a VIP--member or not, celeb or not--complete with personal Rachel Zoes for all as every sales girl is a trained stylist. --Lyndsey Saul
