On the Catwalk 1.15.08On January 15, 2008 The engineer from Disney strikes a killer pose! Valley girls and guys are so fashion-savvy. And what better place for these smartly dressed mall rats to shop than Canoga Park's Westfield Topanga shopping center? The mall houses a mix of upscale and budget-friendly stores - but the best part about the place is that it's just plain huge. SYLVIA MASUDA\>LA.COM STEPHANIE HORN HAIRSTYLIST >Age:24.>Residence: Calabasas. How would you describe your style? I don't think I necessarily have a style, in particular. Whatever's going to be flattering to my body type. I like T-shirts with big logos on them. Where do you get your threads? H&M is great, especially because I like buying clothes that are fairly cheap. I like Planet Funk and Metropark. Then, of course, Sephora for makeup. Who or what do you look to for fashion inspiration? Some of my inspiration comes from a lot of concerts, like the lead singer of the Sounds is really cute. The Gossip makes me want to dress a little bit edgier and a little bit more feminine. I've always had my own take on styles. What's a current or past fashion trend you can't stand? I hate velour jumpsuits. They're the tackiest thing I've ever seen in my life. I hate Juicy Couture. I hate Crocs. And I hate the Uggs-and-jean skirt look. DAN NUGAWELA ENGINEERING INTERN AT DISNEYLAND >Age: 21. >Residence: Canoga Park. How would you describe your style? I normally wear casual clothes, but I love to dress formally, too. Where do you get your threads? Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister and American Eagle. I can't afford designer clothing. Who or what do you look to for fashion inspiration? I try to do my own kind of style. I don't try to copy anybody, but I do my hairstyle like David Beckham. He's one of my favorite sports stars. What's a current or past trend you can't stand? I hate the Tyra Banks bangs on girls. I don't like that. On guys, I hate pants that are below their waists and the way they hold up their pants. It's kind of gross. LIZ CARRILLO STUDENT >Age: 18. >Residence: Calabasas. How would you describe your style? I don't know how to describe it ... it's chic and comfortable. Where do you get your threads? I like Abercrombie & Fitch, Nordstrom, Hollister and Vera Wang. I bought a Vera Wang dress for $289 for prom. Who or what do you look to for fashion inspiration? Kate Moss and Vanessa Hudgens. Kate Moss has her own unique style. She wears a sophisticated kind of look. Vanessa Hudgens has a more comfortable look, but at the same time, she's laid back. What's a current or past fashion trend you can't stand? Leggings and stripe patterns. I think they're done.
