Art and design book imprint Taschen's second LA store makes its timely debut inside the Farmer's Market Clock Tower.

Situated conveniently between the Farmer's Market and a Coffee Bean, Taschen is a great place to pass the time before meeting friends for coffee or a bite to eat. The Philippe Starck-designed space is small (about 550 square feet) but abundant with Taschen's quirky and irreverent books on art, design, architecture and pop culture (with the familiar side of artsy nudity). Those familiar with Taschen's Beverly Hills store will notice the same Asian mahogany bookshelves, white curtains and engravings throughout. Tables of books spill out to the open courtyard, which allows more space to ask the cutie browsing next to you for a book recommendation. —Enid Portuguez
