The Grove houses a celeb-haven cinema, quality restaurants, a fountain, a trolley and a utopian layout that's more Disneyland than mall.

Once unpopular with locals due to its massive size, The Grove (attached to the historic Fairfax Farmer's Market) has been embraced by Angelenos and tourists alike. Even people who aren't thrilled at a less-than-unusual list of shops including Gap, J. Crew, Victoria's Secret and Abercrombie & Fitch admit the Grove's large fountain, outdoor spaces and sheer glut of fantastic people-watching have made it a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The cinema is packed on weekends (and a lot of weeknights); a trolley runs the entire expanse of the area, and often there are free concerts by the likes of Alanis Morissette staged around the fountain.
