The green-seeking upper crust flock to Vert on Abbot Kinney, L.A.'s only source for can't-find-any-place-else, eco-friendly beauty products.

Makeup artist Renata Helfman noticed a hole in the beauty market's ozone—a one-stop shop focused on providing luxurious beauty products that do a body (and the environment) good, beyond the superficial. Combining her doctor's advice to keep her exposure to chemicals limited with her knowledge of worldwide brands, Helfman decided to do her part. Thus, Vert was born. The airy, Zen-meets-mod space boasts floor-to-ceiling windows that illuminate geometric shelves displaying products by Arcona, CARE by Stella McCartney, Naturopathica and Nux. Difficult, if not impossible, to find specialty lines are on-hand like NYC-based spa Pratima's Ayurveda oils (Vert is the only place in the world that carries these outside of Pratima). Also a great place to grab gifts, Vert carries candles, reusable shopping bags, eco-conscious clothing and cases of jewelry, including vintage pieces handpicked by Helfman’s mom. A makeup counter with all-natural products (like Josie Maran Cosmetics) is a reminder of Helfman’s beauty background, as are the how-to classes she personally teaches. —Lyndsey Saul
