Spywitness at the unveiling of the redesigned Fendi boutique

A clean, sober Lindsay Lohan is there

“It’s not that I don’t want to talk to you, sir, but I’ve been told not to,” a sober -- and maybe smarter -- Lindsay Lohan politely told a journalist at the opening of the redesigned Fendi boutique on Rodeo Drive.

Lohan, a self-confessed Karl Lagerfeld/Fendi fanatic, still managed to generate promotional buzz with her mouth closed.  Wearing a $4,130 Fendi dress, she strolled through the store to check out a $14,700 mink fur number and a $1,480 white jacket. She also eyed ten Fendi Baguette Bags decorated by contemporary artists, including Jeff Koons and Mark Bradford, to benefit LACMA’s youth program.

Mandy Moore, Rose McGowan Dana Delany, Julie Bowen, Kate Mara, Keisha Whitaker and Camlla Alves were a bit more loquacious.

“I’m a budding Fendi fan and might bid on the Jeff Koons bag,” said Moore, wearing a borrowed $2,100 black Fendi dress.

Meanwhile Bradford explained why he painted “STOP WAR” on his bag.

“What better way to promote a concept than to have it on a luxury item on the arm of a person with expendable income,” said the L.A.-born artist.

Bet “STOP DRINKING” would have attracted at least one more bid.
