W Hotel Los Angeles WestwoodHipster heaven hotel ![]() This is the hotel where the flaxen-haired, goody-goody Kate Bosworth character stayed in Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! But even those who aren't from rural West Virginia will be dazzled by Westwood's tree-lined streets, the W's blue backlit stairs and super-trendy vibe.Full as it is with low-slung couches and dim lights, the hotel lobby feels more like a living room. An extremely chic living room. Each member of the staff—from the valets to the scantily clad servers in Whiskey Blue, the hotel bar—dons black, and the clientele is undeniably hot. More than 250 rooms are decked out with sleek, custom mahogany furnishings and soft plum linens, high-speed Internet access, plush cotton bathrobes and Bliss bath products. And if you love the furniture, carpets or toiletries, someone at the hotel will help you buy them for yourself. The pool area is an urban oasis, with private cabanas for the elite and the wired. The hotel's restaurant Nine Thirty is owned by the same group who runs Paladar, Tengu, Nacional, Holly's and Holly's West. (That means it's extremely hip, with a great menu and solid fare.) Although the space is more Zen-inspired than homey, the food served is decidedly haute comfort fare. Chef Jack Yoss also oversees the more casual menu for The Backyard, the outdoor setting near the pool.![]()
