Classier than a "Dukes of Hazard" revival, the Farmer's Daughter Hotel is a homey place for country cousins to play tourist in the big city and get schooled in the ins and outs of "The Price Is Right."

This Fairfax motor lodge is a family-owned-and-operated 66-room hotel that crosses urban-hipster living with the sets from "Hee Haw." The Farmer's Daughter is gussied up with gingham curtains and cheesy homemade art, but gets citified with high-speed Internet access. (The old Farmer's Daughter housed countless Hollywood wannabes like a once-unknown Charlize Theron.) Guests can join sightseeing tours from the lobby or just sit by the concrete swimmin' hole; the patio at Tart restaurant is a charming enclave. Jethro and Ellie Mae will enjoy their down-home stay in LA.

The hotel is located near such popular attractions as the historic Farmer's Market, The Grove, and CBS Studios, and has been a staple for "The Price Is Right" hopefuls for decades. Bob Barker is only hosting the show until June, so now's the perfect time to get a lesson from Front Desk Manager Ted Ott. Every night at 10pm, Mr. Ott hosts tutorials for guests begging for tips for getting to Contestants Row. Come on down! —Mai Dinh
