Did you know that over 10% of travelers in the Los Angeles area end up staying at a hotel for 30 days or more?

Neither did we, but hotelier Avi Brosh (Custom Hotel) did, and decided to build a property just for these long-term nomads. Hence the intimate new 36-room boutique Palihouse Holloway Hotel in the heart of West Hollywood.
Stepping into the Palihouse, located just a few blocks from the Sunset Strip, is like stepping into the library of that eccentric world-traveling uncle you always wished you had.
The walls are lined with curios and bric-a-brac from all over the world, while the casually mismatched furniture invites you to flop down and relax for a while as you enjoy an espresso from the continental “bar tabac” in the lobby. Or take a glass of wine out to the atrium and enjoy the quiet leafy space before dinner in the cozy brasserie.
When you’re staying for a long period of time, however, the most important element is, of course, the accommodations.
With décor painstakingly chosen by Brosh himself, each room is spacious, modern, and just like that cool loft apartment you always wanted to live in but never got around to.
The open floor plans feature large windows, welcoming beds with Egyptian linens, giant LCD flat screen TV’s, and Carrera marble “rain” showers — you know, just like home.
And for guests who really want to feel at home, you can even do your own laundry in your room’s washer/dryer, or clean the dishes in the dishwasher (in the 1- and 2-bedrooms, that is). Throw in the in-room personal training and spa sessions that are available, and you’ll never want to leave.
With rates starting at $289/night, Palihouse is an affordable hotel option for most budgets — even if you do have to stay a week minimum.
As a bonus, Palihouse is not just for the guests to enjoy. It is also meant to be a neighborhood hangout, with performances by local DJ’s guest appearing in the lobby bar open to the public, and an excellent restaurant serving up classic French dishes.
So whether you come for a month or an hour, you’ll find something to like at Palihouse.
