Officially a Historic Hotel of America, The Culver Hotel takes pride in its rich Hollywood history: Rooms are named after famous inhabitants like Clark Gable, Katharine Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and John Wayne, who once owned the building. His room has a round bed, so it's no surprise that Mike "Austin Powers" Myers has scouted the room; "Monk" and "House" have both recently shot there, and Tim Robbins is a frequent unannounced guest (perhaps after a long day's work at his nearby Actor's Gang Theatre). The only hotel in Culver City, The Culver and its restaurant, Munchkins, are due for renovations to modernize the amenities. But the slight wear and tear throughout the hotel is actually part of its current charm, lending an old-world elegance that's unique in LA. —Katherine Spiers
