Shag carpeting. "Jetsons"-style lounge chairs. A model behind glass. And that's just the lobby.

This is not the hotel to lumber into, exhausted and schlumpy, ready for a hot shower and a pillow. This is the hotel to strut into and head straight for the nearest martini—even if (or especially if) it's 10:30am. The lobby is a scene at night, as is the diner, as are the poolside fiestas. But should you be awake and/or sober in your very modern room, you'll note the full minibar, silver beanbag, mirrors that the website call "gi-normous" and plenty of modern amenities. This hotel's raison d'etre, though, is the environment of stars, those who wish they were, and those who wish to sleep with them. Leonardo Dicaprio and Cameron Diaz were investors; Hugh Hefner, Mark Wahlberg and every star you could name has been here.—Lonny Pugh
